couples, engagements & anniversary

In case you missed it - I'm Catherine, and I take photos of people.

I love love (soppy I know) and love capturing people celebrating life. A lot of the time that's weddings, but if you're on this page then that's not you!

If you're here, then you are after photos of you and your love. You might have just gotten engaged, and be looking to have photos to remember this AMAZING point in your relationship. Maybe its your anniversary, and want a gift you'll remember for years to come. Or maybe its just time to get photos with the fur babies - because they need to be included in these things too!

Whatever the reason, I'm so glad you found your way here, and cant wait to help plan a session to capture your love!

This page is both price guide and info sheet. No extra downloads, or pdfs to look through. Because who has time for that?
Read on to learn about sessions, and how to book!

Relaxed, and fun -

I understand that not everyone is totally comfortable in front of the camera. So I try to make sessions as stress free, and fun as possible for everyone involved. My BIGGEST brag is that guys walk away finding the sessions fun, and easy. Who could ask for more?!

Posed but not -

Ill never ask you to stand there and 'be natural' because I know it doesn't work. Instead Ill pop you into poses, and then get you interacting with your other half. Dancing, walking, laughing. enjoying yourselves. That way your photos look like your having fun, because you actually will be.

All about you -

I love to capture a little bit of you in your photos. This means we go to spots that have meaning to you, places you love. We get you dressed in clothing you love, not just what will photograph well. I want your photographs to feel like you when you look back on them in 10 years time.

Couples sessions are $380.

Sessions are normally about 45min long, and your package includes delivery of digital images 10 days post shoot.
You'll also get a few sneak peek images within 48 hours.

Pre session planning includes help with outfits, so you can look and feel your best, as well as location planning.

Picking the when -

Once we know your date, and location, we can figure out the time to shoot. I love shooting in the evenings, close to sunset. All those photos with glowy golden light? Sunset is when we achieve this.
This looks like 7pm in the warmer months, and 4pm in winter.

Different locations do have different lighting, and will react to sunset differently. There are some that get darker earlier than sunset, and others that we can shoot in basically till dark.

While sunset sessions are my preference, its not the only option. Sunrise sessions can look stunning, as can shooting during the day. We just have to choose our locations, and work with the light.

Once you are booked in Ill give you some options based on our location choices, and when golden hour will be.

Planning the where -

Picking locations for photos can seem overwhelming, but I like to try and keep it simple. If you have a location in mind, then please let me know - I love to shoot in locations that you love, and have special meaning to you. This could be a place you go for walks together, somewhere you love to grab coffee, or a spot you once went on a date. I think using locations with a bit of history help you love your photos even more.

If you don't have a location in mind, then I'm more than happy to offer suggestions. As long as you know the vibe you would like in your photos - think green, urban, or something colourful - then I can offer suggestions that will fit.

I scout all locations ahead of the shoot to make sure they are looking great, and exactly what we are after.

What to wear -

I get asked a LOT about what to wear to a session, and I totally get it.
You want to wear something that's going to photograph well, while still being comfortable, and will still feel like you. Easy right?

My first and BIGGEST tip for picking outfits is pick something you love to wear. If you never wear dresses, don't get a dress just for your session. If you hate yourself in white, do not wear white. If you don't love your outfit, then you wont love your photos. Trust me on this.

The next tip is colours.
Now I LOVE colours in sessions! I'm never one to tell someone to not wear something colourful if it will make them happy. But again, if you don't wear colour in your daily life, your session is not the time to experiment. There are colours that photograph better together, and look good in any location. Natural and Neutral colours are safe bets, and work as a great base if your a bit stuck.
Think grey, white, cream and tan. Blues, browns, greens, and yellows - those found in nature. Mix these, or add in a pop of colour.

And just remember this is a guide, not a rule book.
your shoot, your way.

I like to keep things as easy as possible.
SO! You can use the contact form to the side to get in touch and ask me any questions, check dates, or anything else you want to know. From there we confirm a date, plan a location and next thing you know it will be the day of your session!
