Real Wedding - S & A Yarralumla Winter wedding day
A lakeside winter wedding at Weston park. A super sweet Micro wedding for S & A - featuring their beautiful pup.

I sat down with Alex & Skye over drinks at the pub.
It was one of the first cold nights of the year, and told me their plans to be married in the depths of Canberra winter. And I have to say I was excited for them, despite knowing it would be cold. They were just so excited to be getting married, to be doing the thing.
And hearing how they met, and where their relationship had taken them, I knew that it would be a great day!
They opted for no getting ready photos, choosing to have me meet them at the ceremony spot. They went with Weston Park in Yarralumla for their winter day, knowing it would be a bit shaded from the wind. And although it had rained in the week leading up to their day, the sun came out and it was a perfect winters day.
They wanted some photos with their beautiful dog ahead of tying the knot, but kept it casual. No 'offical' first look, just hanging out with each other to celebrate their day.
We took 10 min to go for a wander for some pics, before they walked her down the aisle together.
Kristy - Weddings by Kristy - did a short, sweet ceremony for these two over looking Lake Burley Griffin. They had some drinks for their guests to enjoy while they did the paperwork, before hugs, and congratulations.
Once they had waved everyone off, we went for a quick drive to Lennox Gardens for some couples photos.
It was just the two of them, with me snapping away. And it couldnt have been better. The Cherry blossoms had come out early, so we had some beautiful pinks to add to the colour pallet.
After Lennox Gardens we took a detour to Aranda, when we wandered a short way into the bush for a few more photos - and some private vows. I love when couples chose to share some private words together, a moment to enjoy the fact that they have DONE the Thing!
This was A & S's first really private moment of the day, and I just snuck around quietly snapping away, letting them enjoy their moment.
We did a few more fun photos before heading off to the reception venue - The Manor at Gold Creek. This is one of my favourite reception spaces in Canberra, it really is the perfect size for smaller receptions, or cocktail receptions. The atmosphere is always great, and its a beautiful blank canvas to add your own touches to.
I was only there for the start of the reception, but it was so fun to see everyone catch up, and have a good time. Days like this really solidify my love of smaller, slightly simpler days. Where the focus is on you and your love, and the people you care about most.
This was the sweetest winter wedding, that was just so perfect for these two.
Im so thankful that I get to help capture days like this - especially when dogs are involved.
I would love to know where you would plan your winter wedding for - would you go outside or stay warm indoors?
Have a great week lovers -
Catherine xx
